SOUNDTRACK is your one hour red carpet ride to the marvellous music of movies and television. Will give you the inside scoop on the songs, and feature the films and TV productions in which they were played – we’ll also catch up when we can to the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. As you might imagine with the hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that. Today we’re turning our attention to TV theme songs – that’ still a category of hundreds of thousands so we’ll narrow it down to include only those with lyrics, and those with staying power, iconic songs if you will. Some would enjoy a long run at the helm of their series, others would live long after the shows went off the air, some were written specifically for TV – while others would need to wait decades before their small screen debut.
Here’s the playlist from the Soundtrack – TV Theme Songs episode. All of the songs are available on iTunes so to get a copy for your collection just click on the title.
