SOUNDTRACK is your one hour red carpet ride to the marvellous music of movies and television. Will give you the inside scoop on the songs, and feature the films and TV productions in which they were played – we’ll also catch up when we can to the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. As you might imagine with hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that and in this show we’re taking a look at friendships. Now I know what you’re thinking – how in the world will that framing narrow down the focus? Without question the “BUDDY” premise has become an onscreen staple but today we’re going to focus on those folks who forge a bond in spite of their obvious differences and regardless of their truly complicated circumstances. Troubled Friendship that find away despite the odds – and we’ve certainly got a real spectrum of trials and tribulations to address along with a wonderful array of sensational soundtrack tunes – from R&B classics to Grammy Hall of Fame inducted gems, to OSCAR winning scores, to chart topping pop hits.
