Soundtrack – Popular Scores

For the first time in our program's history it's all about THE SCORE. Those brilliant works that perfectly punctuate the pictures on screen.

SOUNDTRACK your one hour red carpet ride to the marvellous music of movies and television. We’ll give you the inside scoop on the songs, and feature the films and TV productions in which they were played – we’ll also where we can – share the background on the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. Now – As you might imagine with the hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that and for the first time in our program’s history it’s all about THE SCORE. Those brilliant works that so perfectly punctuate the pictures on screen – those pieces of music that set the tone and serve to tell the story in tandem with the words and actions of the actors. Now it’s true – we’ve had scores peppered throughout our shows over the years – but this episode will focus solely on the truly Popular Scores. The soul stirring, heart pounding, magnificently moving music that has made it’s mark on movie and television history. Everything from romantic classics to chart topping hits – from the mega award winning orchestral works to the omni-present franchise helming themes that have woven their way through decade after decade of audience delights. Oh we’ve curated an extraordinary collection for you so let’s start keeping SCORE shall we.
