Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… and while we’re on the subject of luck – let me just tell you about a very fortuitous text I received my award-winning and wonderful cousin Dan Swinimer just yesterday. Now regular listeners of the show will be familiar with that name as we’ve had Dan on SEA AND BE SCENE AND HEARD a few times over the years, and always to chat about the incredibly hit songs he’s written, the stellar projects he’s working on and the awesome artists he’s working with. Which brings me back to the subject of yesterday’s text from Dan. You see one of those amazing talents Dan has discovered has just made it through to the semi-finals round of SIRIUS RADIO’S prestigious TOP OF THE COUNTRY contest. In a nutshell, that’s the stations nation-wide search for the NEXT BIG THING in Canadian Country Music – it all revolves around a song and oh my goodness is this fella’s song a great one. So, gracious guy that he is, not only did Dan send me this hot-of-the-presses tune but he lined up a chance for me to chat with the artist who also happens to have another killer track rocketing up the charts. So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more – including how this BC born fella is enjoying the travel that comes along with the life of a recording artist and we’ll discover just how comfortable he feels in front of the camera. We’ll also get the scoop on why he refers to his supporters and fans as Deckhands and learn of the life threatening moment that changed the trajectory of his path towards music. Plus we’ll get to 1st Things First, play an oh so enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and without question play as much of his marvellous music as we can within the hour.
