Spindrift Gallery – Press Release
(Halifax, NS) – Peggy’s Cove Centre for Arts and Culture is proud to announce Spindrift Gallery (21 Seagull Lane, Peggy’s Cove) has officially opened its doors in Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia.
Originally constructed as an auxiliary building to a family home, Spindrift Gallery has been transformed into a main-floor art gallery with a beautiful second-floor loft to allow for a future artist-in-residence program.
For Summer 2024, Spindrift Gallery has launched its inaugural exhibit entitled Visions of Time: Peggy’s Cove Captured Through the Lens of Photography and Film, 1920s to 1950s.

“Peggy’s Cove is one of the most visited landmarks on the East Coast for its majestic beauty and historical significance,” says Eleanor McCain, Founder and CEO of Six by the Sea and Director of Peggy’s Cove Centre for Arts and Culture. “From the 1920s to the 1950s, several photographers and filmmakers visited Peggy’s Cove to document its rugged coastal beauty and the work of the fishermen who lived there. In this inaugural Spindrift Gallery exhibit, you will see Peggy’s Cove as it was captured through the lenses of these men and women.”
Spindrift Gallery is now open for the season until October 11. Hours of operation are Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is FREE.
