SOUNDTRACK is your one hour red carpet ride to the marvellous music of movies and television. We’ll give you the inside scoop on the songs, and feature the films and TV productions in which they were played – we’ll also where we can – share the background on the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. Now – As you might imagine with the hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that and for this one it’s all about Colour Songs. Indeed every song we’ll spin today has a colour in the title. And just like the kaleidoscope of colours found in the righteous rainbow – today’s assortment offers a ton of different tones and genres from chart-topping American pop to Indy British Rock from sweeping Oscar-nominated scores to tender Country ballads to iconic signature songs that blew up bigger than the films themselves. Some of the songs you’re about to hear were perfectly placed to punctuate the scene while other would be full-on title tracks performed by the stars themselves.
Here’s the playlist from the Soundtrack – Colourful Songs episode. All of the songs are available on iTunes so to get a copy for your collection just click on the title.
