Our conversations will be just that – very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable. And one of the many perks of my ongoing East Coast Celebration over the years has been building up our roster of East Coast Experts – from all things flowers with our dear friend Neville MacKay to real estate with the sensational Susan Diamond, from mixology, to music production to Frisbee flinging and beyond I’ve embraced every opportunity to learn from those folks who excel in their industry that’s why I’m so excited to announce a new addition to our team and a timely one at that what with the busy summer season fast approaching – top notch hospitality here on Nova Scotia’s South Shore has never been more vital. To regular listeners of the show you’ll no doubt recognize her voice having been a guest whenever we’ve been celebrating all there is to see and in this lovely corner of the world – from Chester Race Week’s More on the Shore to Nova Scotia’s Lobster Crawl she’s the marvellous force behind the marketing of the South Shore Tourism Cooperative but she’s joining us today to talk about another area of expertise – and let me just say with over 30 years in the industry the lady knows her stuff. From managing teams to delivering exceptional guest experiences, we’ll talk about all of it and so much more, including the ways in which the tourism sector has changed over the years and what we can anticipate for this upcoming season. We’ll also talk about the importance of balance in the workplace for operators and their employees and how her guiding principles have worked in other sectors. And we’ll even talk about a brand new festival she’s created to mark an awesome arbour-related milestone in her home county of Queens. Plus, we’ll get THE FIRST WORD, play The Final Countdown and even spin some of her favourite tunes throughout the hour, so with all that ahead, we’d best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the Hospitality Hero herself, the one and only Stephanie Miller Vincent. (you’ll find the player at the bottom of the post)
