Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl 2020

Lobster Crawl 2020 on SEA AND BE SCENE and HEARD

Broadcast Date: January 22, 2020

Now if you’re a regular listener of the show you know, I like so many folks in this part of the world, wear a whole bunch of hats. I’m really lucky though because all of my hats are happy ones.  Certainly, Sea and be Scene is a blast. I also head up the Tourism Team for the Municipality of Chester so I get to celebrate the 36 wonderful communities you’ll find there, and as a board member for the South Shore Tourism Cooperative – I get to ban together with all kinds of incredible folks from Peggy’s Cove to Barrington to make sure everyone knows everything we’ve got on the go all year round.  And I’m here to tell ya – in case you hadn’t heard – no matter what that thermometer is telling you things are really heating up here on the South Shore as we are now just days away from NOVA SCOTIA LOBSTER CRAWL 2020.

So on today’s show, we’ll do our best to sink our claws into all the amazing events set to roll from February 1st all the way to the 29th. We’ll catch up with Nova Scotia Lobster Crawl’s new festival director Menna Riley to get the scoop on the social media side and hear how you can join in the celebrations. Plus we’ll learn why this whole festival was started in the first place and hear how it’s grown by award-winning and wonderful leaps and bounds with the President of the South Shore Tourism Cooperative Donna Hatt. We’ll also squeeze in a marvellous round of β€˜Lobster Movie Trivia’ when the SSTC’s Stephanie Miller Vincent pops in to compete, and we’ll share some cool concert news from one of our favourite east coast artists.  Oh yes, there’s a ton to get done so I say let’s do it… ladies and gentlemen on with show!

We called it β€œFamily Day” in Nova Scotia during our conversation but officially it’s called β€œHeritage Day” and is celebrated on the third Monday in February, Nova Scotia Heritage Day is an annual reminder of our storied past and an opportunity to honour the remarkable people, places and events that have contributed to this province’s unique heritage. This year it falls on February 17, 2020
