We’re thrilled to announce – after what seems like forever – THE GOOD HOUSE is set to screen at the Toronto International Film Festival this September. The romantic comedy based on Ann Leary’s best-selling book of the same name was filmed right here on Nova Scotia’s South Shore during the fall of 2019. TIFF will host a gala world premiere screening of the feature where we anticipate stars Sigourney Weaver and Kevin Kline will attend.
We’re anxiously awaiting a trailer to go with the first look still above in the next few weeks. In the meantime, we’re pleased to share some sweet shots we took right here in our hometown of Chester, Nova Scotia during the filming.
Indeed our sweet seaside village was made over to play the fictional role of Wendover, Massachusetts in which realtor Hildy Good (played by Weaver) begins to unravel when she hooks up with an old flame of hers from New York by the name of Frank Getchell (played by Kline).
THE GOOD HOUSE is directed by Maya Forbes and Wallace Wolodarsky who were joined by THE FAMILY STONE writer/director Thomas Bezucha in adapting the screenplay.
No word yet on whether THE GOOD HOUSE will screen at this year’s FIN Atlantic International Film Festival but we’ve got our fingers crossed for that bit of good news when they release their complete 2021 festival lineup on Wednesday, September 25th. You can be sure we’ll bring you all the #FINfest news when it breaks.
THE GOOD HOUSE will be released by Universal Pictures domestically. Amblin Partners and Universal will share international distribution rights.
