Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable…. And I’m here to tell ya – talking it up with today’s guest was a true treat. Hard to believe it’s been nearly a decade since we first connected for SEA AND BE SCENE TV Songwriters Special back in 2014 – and while he impressed me with his tunes back then – the years that followed have been filled with so many stellar songs, a whole bunch of awards, a ton of touring and in the last few years some pretty impressive turns as producer as well. So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including his current tour with Canadian super group Crash Test Dummies, and what he considers to be his all time ‘favourite gig’. We’ll also discover his favourite way to write and whether he prefers hitting the stage solo or with a band by his side. Plus we’ll get to 1st Things First, play a long overdue round of INsights IN 10 and a brand new game called DO I HAVE THIS RIGHT?! Oh and of course spin as much of his marvellous music as we can within the hour including an awesome acoustic version of his hit “Pick Me Up, Dust Me Off” just released in celebration that song’s 10th anniversary. So with all that ahead we best get to it – Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Carleton Stone. (PLAYER AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST)
