SOUNDTRACK is your one hour red carpet ride to the marvellous music of movies and television. We’ll give you the inside scoop on the songs, and feature the films and TV productions in which they were played – we’ll also where we can – share the background on the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. Now – As you might imagine with the hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that and for this one it’s all about BIRTHDAYS!!! Why you ask? Well it’s our birthday week!!! The Sidekick joins me to co-host as we celebrate back-to-back birthdays and yes, we’ve got a smorgasbord of snacks (and cake) along with a cornucopia of tunes for you from the big and small screen – killer rock classics to chart topping pop tunes. We’ve got some folk, some rap, original scores and a little opera in there to boot. Plus we’ll play a fun birthday gift of game where we cast one another in a hypothetical big screen remake with a stellar soundtrack.
Here’s the playlist from the Soundtrack – Birthday Celebrations episode. All of the songs are available on iTunes so to get a copy for your collection just click on the title.
