Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… in the case of today’s guest I can honestly say it’s been a long time coming and it was really worth the wait. Oh sure you’ll find plenty of posts on this amazing lady on SeaAndBeScene.com from her work writing and producing on TV shows like Orphan Black, Rookie Blue and Frontier here in Canada to US series work like The Catch and Ten Days in the Valley, to her award winning feature films like her debut the dramatic coming of age film CRACKIE to her most recent world-renowned movie MAUDIE – we’ve featured her on camera roles too including the return to her most hillarious Myrna Furey-Meaney in Hatching Matching and Dispatching’s A CHRISTMAS FURY. Indeed there’s no denying Newfoundland born, Toronto Based Sherry White has been beyond busy – in fact her latest project for the small screen Little Dog – one for which she holds credits for writing, directing, executive producer and show runner – is set to premiere its second season this week. The original and very funny series created by and starring Joel Thomas Hynes shoots in St.John’s and tells the story of lightweight boxer Tommy “Little Dog” Ross, his troublesome family, his trouble filled friends and his haphazard quest for redemption. Oh it’s a riot! So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more – including her affinity for writing, her talented son Percy Hynes White and the remarkable shift she’d make if she was no longer in the entertainment industry – so with all that ahead I say let’s get to it… please enjoy my conversation with the one and only Sherry White.
