Broadcast Date September 18, 2019

If you’ve been following our SEA AND BE SCENE adventures over the years you’re familiar with the tremendous affinity we have for the Atlantic International Film Festival – in fact, the very first episode of our TV show was about The Film Fest.  Hitting the Red Carpet, catching the screenings, chatting with the movie makers and stars – it’s truly a blast,  so you’ve gotta know when I got a call this year from the Directors Guild of Canada to moderate their Visionaries Event at FIN I was over the moon. This past Sunday – Mr.Allan Hawco and I had the incredibly great fortune of chatting with some of the country’s most acclaimed directors and talented new filmmakers, in front of a packed house at the Lord Nelson Hotel. It was a wonderful new addition to the FIN Festival line up and so my guest today is the man who curated the event – Senior Manager for the Directors Guild of Canada – Hans Engel. We sat down to chat in the Lord Nelson lobby – amidst the hubbub of industry shakers and movie makers so… you’ll hear that in the background for sure.  As for the conversation, we’ll get the scoop on the DGC – all its wonderful work and efforts on behalf of creative folks in Canada, plus we’ll talk about the inspiration behind the Visionaries Event, the prospects for production in the Country and his great love of Canada’s EAST Coast, and so much more – including a fun round of First Things First, an almost too enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and naturally talk about a ton movies and TV shows.  So without further ado – here’s my conversation with the one and only Hans Engel.
