Kelly Prescott on SEA AND BE SCENE and HEARD

Broadcast Date: February 26, 2020

Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable – and today I’m truly overjoyed! I’ve known today’s guest since she was just a little girl – in fact, I had the great fortune of meeting her way back in the day when her father Randall Prescott was producing my first album just outside Ottawa, Ontario. Back then this kindred spirit was a pint-sized powerhouse who would fill up a room with her wonderful personality and command tons of applause when she’d join her mother Tracey Brown on concert stages from coast to coast. It’s been so incredible to watch her grow into a phenomenally talented artist and performer and I’m over the moon that I get the chance to celebrate the release of her brand new EP LOVE WINS – a project for which she wrote or co-wrote every song and as you’ll soon hear – put her heart and soul into every note. We’ll talk about the new songs and so much more including what it was like to have her big brother Kaylen produce the project, what it was like growing up immersed in the music business and her take on the industry today. Plus we’ll play First Things First, get in a fun round of INsights IN 10 and since we’re catching up to her on a national tour – opening up for the finest kind of NL fella Mr. Alan Doyle we’ll get the scoop on that bit of business as well. Oh, we’ve got plenty of ground to cover so with just an hour to get it done I say let’s get to it – here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Kelly Prescott.
