Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable and for this our very first show of 2021 I did something a little different – over the holidays I threw a line out on my Twitter account asking the good people who they would like to hear on this week’s show – I’ve listened and we’ve got some truly cool guests coming up in the months ahead – but only one incredible artist reached out to me directly saying he’d love to have a chat and lucky for us that was Nova Scotia native award-winning actor, composer, teacher and writer Josh Cruddas. An east coast talent whose career I’ve followed since we first sat down for an on-camera chat at the Atlantic International Film Festival back in 2013. Back then we were discussing his first feature film Ron Maxwell’s Civil War epic COPPERHEAD and in the years since – Josh has packed his credits with plenty more roles on both the big and small screen – appearing in everything from Canadian hits like MURDOCH MYSTERIES and PRIVATE EYES to Netflix originals like HOW IT ENDS with Oscar winner Forest Whitaker and the crime thriller POLAR with incredible Mads Mikkelsen all the while adding score after score to his film composer credits – oh he’s been busy and we’ll talk about all of it and then some – including his phenomenal range as an actor and his turn in the terrifying ANYTHING FOR JACKSON – we’ll talk about his approach to writing music for a foreign language film and get an exclusive advance listen to an incredible score he’s composed for the forthcoming HBO-Asia series DREAM RAIDER – we’ll also get to first things first, play an enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and spin his favourite east coast song of all time – so with all that ahead we best get to it – here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Josh Cruddas.
