Denis Theriault on SEA AND BE SCENE and HEARD 2021

Broadcast Date – April 21, 2021

I can’t tell you how fantastic it was to catch up to New Brunswick-born, Toronto-based award-winning and wonderful writer, director and actor Denis Theriault. His talented turns in front of and behind the camera have been on my radar for a long time now – from his guest-starring spots on TV shows like CALL ME FITZ and SEED, to his big-screen roles in features like ALL THE WRONG REASONS and ACROSS THE LINE to his own short films SIBLING RIVALRY and I AM SYD STONE, and we’ve also celebrated his live theatre work in his hometown of Fredericton – so it was no surprise when we put Denis on SEA AND BE SCENE TV’S 2015 ONES TO WATCH LIST and true to form he’s been creating up a storm ever since.  So much so that he can now add web series writer-director to his growing list of credits as I AM SYD STONE the series is set to premiere on OUTtv on April 22nd.  So we’ll talk about that amazing project and so much more, including how it’s evolved and expanded from his much-acclaimed short to this highly anticipated 6 part series, the virtual way in which it all came together, and the special connection that came from the casting call. We’ll also talk about his great team of supporters, his huge love for the homeland and get the inside scoop on his next BIG project. Plus we’ll get to First Things First, play a long-overdue round of INsights IN 10 and even mix in some of his favourite movie music while we’re at it.  So with all that ahead we best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Denis Theriault. (you’ll find the player at the bottom of the show notes)
