So happy to be a part of the HANDCRAFTED TV team for their second season. Not only do I get to host a show with a truly cool crew but I get to travel throughout Nova Scotia meeting and learning from incredibly talented artists and artisans. Case in point custom woodworker Rob MacCormack and his wonderful work at Creations East Woodworking in Truro.

From fantastic furniture to incredible live edge countertops, amazing art pieces and cutting boards to custom keepsakes, his list of creations is ever-expanding. And while Rob works with all kinds of wood to create one-of-kind pieces for his rapidly growing list of clients he’ll be the first to tell you his true love lies in giving old wood a new life.

“Old wood has a story to tell and I listen. I am passionate about creating furniture, functional decor and art from reclaimed wood for a reason. Each piece has its own unique history, character and beauty that cannot be found or replicated in modern mass-produced pieces.” MacCormack shares on his website, “Wood, marked by time, inspires and influences all of my designs. Its age only adds to its appeal and allure.”

While all of his works are wonderful I couldn’t help but fall for his Sound Wave Art. Using reclaimed wood Rob creates a true-to-form sound profile of everything from special songs to a puppy’s snoring. No client request is too crazy. What a wonderful gift it would be for that songwriter who just scored their first Top 40 tune or that couple who had it play at their wedding.

You can see more of Rob’s work and connect to have him create your custom piece on his website at creationseast.com
And by all means, follow Creations East Woodworking on Instagram and Facebook like we do to see what Mr.MacCormack is making today. It’s always something awesome!
PS. Well be sure to let you know when Rob’s episode of HANDCRAFTED TV premieres on Eastlink this fall – so stay tuned!!!
