What is a Curator?
Borrowed from Latin cūrātor “one who looks after, superintendent, guardian,” from cūrāre “to watch over, attend” + -tor, agent suffix. Curators are responsible for assembling, cataloging, managing, and presenting/displaying artistic and cultural collections.
And with that, we continue our on-going series of incredible EAST coast collections – each with a specific theme – always with the goal of showcasing what Atlantic Canada has to offer.
We’ll put the call out and ask you to tag us when you’ve got something to add to our collection – we’ll share everything, feature our favourites and with your help we’ll show the world just how much there is to love here on Canada’s East Coast!
It’s November – and while the snow has yet to land in any serious way this season, we’ve landed on the focus of third collection. We’re collecting snowmen.
Here’s the thing… YES – I have an overwhelming and well documented affinity for those fluffy white friends, but I’m not alone in that love. You have to admit snowmen are truly relatable. They’re look is typically askew and yet they’re happy in spite of it. They come in all shapes and sizes, and without question they provide a truly pleasing precursor to the full on festive decor of Christmas. Seriously – what’s not to love?! You can be sure we’ll be showing off my ever growing collection of snowmen right here on East Coast Curator, but we truly can’t wait to see your snowmen. From the really real made with love kind, to the creative cookie kind, to the cherished ornaments and more. PLEASE take a picture and share your shots of all the sensational snowmen you encounter throughout New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island too.
