Broadcast Date – February 1, 2023
Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… And it sure was that catching up with today’s guest and we had some lovely stuff to catch up on… plenty of stellar stuff has happened since we last crossed paths two summers ago at the Mahone Bay Music Festival – including a bunch of nominations from the East Coast Music Association and Music Nova Scotia Award and just last week she earned two more ECMA nods for her latest release EVERY SEASON including a nomination for Folk Recording of the Year and Album of the Year So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including the talented team of collaborators on this project including Gabrielle Papillon and Dan Ledwell, how a surprise twist on her tune turned into a techno hit and what’s in store for her multi province tour next month. Plus we’ll get to 1st Things First, play an enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and naturally spin as much of her marvellous music as we can throughout the hour so with all that ahead we best get to it – here’s my sit-down conversation with the one and only Kristen Martell.
