Our chats will be just that – very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… and what an absolute delight it was to connect with today’s guest. Not only is she a multi-award winning jazz singer, songwriter and musician she’s also the host of CBC Radio Saturday Night Jazz show, she’s also a touring artist who’s travelled the globe playing stages like the legendary Carnegie Hall and Britain’s famed Durham Catherdral, and as luck would have it she’s headed our way with 3 East Coast Shows as part of her cross-Canada WINTERSONGS & HOLIDAY CLASSICS Tour . So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including what it’s like to hit the road with rock ‘n roll hall of fame superstar STING, how she met the love of her life musican Ben Wittman and how she came to find herself at farm house feast prepared by none other than Cape Breton’s own Natalie MacMaster. Plus we’ll get to 1st Things First, play a fun round of INights IN 10 and spin as much of her marvellous music as we can within the hour. So with all that ahead we best get to it. Here’s my online conversation with the one and only Laila Biali. (you’ll find the player at the bottom of this post)
