Broadcast Date – September 4, 2024
Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable! Now if you’re a fan of all my SEA AND BE SCENE adventures over the year – you know how much I adore the ATLANTIC INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. It’s that terrific time of the year when awesome actors, fantastic filmmakers and industry shakers hunker down in Halifax to celebrate cinema. This year’s festival is set to run from September 11th through the 18th showcasing 97 feature and short films at Halifax’s Cineplex Cinemas Park Lane and as is our annual tradition – we’re bringing you the inside scoop on what’s in store for AIFF2024. We’ll connect with the festival’s Director of Programming Lisa Haller to talk about the spectacular lineup of films set to screen, including the amazing slate of creations from all around the world and those made right here on Canada’s East Coast. Speaking of which, our filmmaker in the spotlight for our special this year – is none other than Newfoundland native MELANIE OATES – and I’m thrilled to tell you we’ll be chatting with that SEA AND BE SCENE Superstar whose sophomore feature SWEET ANGEL BABY holds the honour of this year’s ATLANTIC GALA Presentation. But first we’ll connect with the Executive Director of the ATLANTIC INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Martha Cooley to hear about all the extraordinary events that surround this years festival – the gala parties and wonderful workshops, the expert panels and musical events too – so without further ado here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Martha Cooley (you can find the player at the bottom of this post)
