We were so excited to share the big news back in March (see post here) when Screen Nova Scotia held their ribbon cutting ceremony for their new soundstage. So you can imagine how thrilled we are to post of their first production at the site.
Below is the official press release as issued by Screen Nova Scotia with more on season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — August 27, 2025
Production is now underway in Screen Nova Scotia’s soundstage with the facility’s first tenant – the fourth season of the hit CTV Original series Sullivan’s Crossing. The series will film at the soundstage and on location in Nova Scotia with the upcoming 10-episode season set to premiere on CTV and Crave in 2026.
The soundstage property was purchased by Screen Nova Scotia in March 2025 with investment from the provincial government, with the goal of increasing the industry’s capacity for production, creating jobs, and providing a home for year-round filming. In the months following the purchase, renovations and fit-ups have been completed, transforming the property into an industry-standard soundstage. The work included significant power upgrades and critical investments in infrastructure and buildings. In addition, safety features were added to existing amenities and buildings to provide a more functional and comfortable working environment for production teams.
“We are delighted to share that the soundstage project has been realized, marking the culmination of years of hard work, shared vision, and collaboration” said Laura Mackenzie, Executive Director, Screen Nova Scotia. “It’s truly significant to welcome Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 as our inaugural production, bringing this vision to life.”

“Sullivan’s Crossing is an adored hit Canadian television series that not only showcases the natural beauty of Nova Scotia but employs Nova Scotian crew and cast and supports small businesses across our province,” said Mackenzie.
Now in its fourth season, Sullivan’s Crossing is produced by series creator and executive producer Roma Roth’s Reel World Management, Muse Entertainment, and Nova Scotia prodco Shut Up & Colour Pictures, in association with Bell Media’s CTV, The CW, and Fremantle. The series is distributed internationally by Fremantle.
Sullivan’s Crossing recently skyrocketed in popularity on Netflix, raking in 22M hours watched to become one of the most-watched series on the streamer. Prior to its arrival on Netflix, the series had a first window in the U.S. on The CW, where it also became a top show on the network.
“We’re thrilled to be heading into Season 4 of Sullivan’s Crossing, with Screen Nova Scotia on their new soundstage,” said series creator and executive producer, Roma Roth. “It’s a beautiful milestone for our series and a testament to the incredible talent and infrastructure that Nova Scotia has to offer.”
A soundstage is a crucial piece of infrastructure for the Nova Scotia film industry, shifting a seasonal industry into a year-round economic generator, and keeping Nova Scotians working at home while injecting production budgets directly into the province. Further plans for the soundstage include repurposing the existing equestrian centre into an additional stage and potential training facility for workforce development, as well exploring the best way to support future growth on the 20 acre property.
