SEA AND BE SCENE... And HEARD Watch & Listen

Chef Nathan Guggenheimer

Nathan Guggenheimer on SEA AND BE SCENE and HEARD

Broadcast Date – January 27, 2021

For today’s episode, I hit the road for a sit-down chat with a kindred spirit who simply hasn’t stopped since the moment he landed here in Nova Scotia. We first crossed paths when he took on the role of Culinary Director at Oak Island Resort after having an already stellar career out west and all around the world really – working with Michelin-starred chefs, opening numerous restaurants and winning awards for himself along the way. And just last year he added another title to his growing list of achievements – Owner & Ringleader of Good Times at the Old Black Forest Restaurant in Lunenburg, NS where they’re in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign for the Greatest Little Patio project complete with a truly welcoming outdoor space for whole the community – so we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including his soon to be launched seltzer brand BRAVE, his family’s coffee company, and his sweet little dog Eggs. Plus we’ll get to FIRST THINGS FIRST play a fun round of INsights in 10 and spin some of his favourite tunes along the way so with all that ahead we best get started – here’s my conversation with the one and only Chef Nathan Guggenheimer. (You can stream/download the podcast via the player at the bottom of this post)

We played two of Nathan’s favourite tunes on the show today both are available on iTunes – to get a copy for yourself just click on the title – “Could I Have This Dance” by Anne Murray and “Ironic” by Alannis Morrisette

To clarify Nathan said his slogan for Nova Scotia would be “Do You Believe In Magic” that song was sung by The Lovin’ Spoonful released back in 1965. Like Nathan said McDonald’s did use it for their commercials back in the ’90’s – you can watch one of those spots here

During Nathan’s INsights IN 10 round he declared his favourite song was “The Hourglass” by Ben Crossland you can watch the video for that song here BUT after the show, Nathan wrote to change that choice to “Nuvole Bianche” by Ludovico Einaudi
