Broadcast Date – April 12, 2023

Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… while it’s always a treat connecting with today’s guest – we’re catching up today to get the scoop on a massive milestone and the action-packed festival his team has curated to celebrate THE 35TH ANNUAL EAST COAST MUSIC AWARDS: FESTIVAL AND CONFERENCE. From Wednesday, May 3rd to Sunday, May 7th, Halifax Nova Scotia will be the place to be for all things EAST COAST MUSIC – every genre, every venue, every artist and musician will be in town to stay, play, showcase and shine. More than 500 musicians and artists, over 40 shows in more than 25 different venues around the city and across the harbour too. So we’ll get the scoop on that and so much more including how the organization determines its stellar roster of award nominees, how they secure an international spotlight on our greatest export and how they ensure awesome events benefit incredible causes. We’ll also discuss the expansion of their sports program, discover the best way to take in the entire 5 days and nights’ worth of festival fun and spin some marvellous music while we’re at it. So with all that ahead – we best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the Chief Executive Officer of the East Coast Music Association. Mr. Andy McLean.
