Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… and it was such a treat connecting with today’s guest in his hometown of St.John’s. Without question we’re well versed in recognizing his award-winning skills as a songwriter and performer, producer and filmmaker, storyteller and composer – but this is the first time we’re celebrating all of that in one very special project CLOSE TO THE BONE – a fantastic short film and stellar soundtrack that weaves a wonderful tapestry of his many talents. So we’ll talk about this phenomenal project and so much more including the real-life inspiration behind this inter-generational tale of a family coping with chronic illness and his incredible roster of collaborators on the production. We’ll also discover how this non-dancing director incorporated some magical moves into his movie and naturally spin as much of his marvellous music as we can throughout the hour – so with all that ahead we best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Ian Foster.
