SOUNDTRACK is your one hour red carpet ride to the marvellous music of movies and television. Will give you the inside scoop on the songs, and feature the films and TV productions in which they were played – we’ll also where we can share the background on the songwriters, composers, producers, directors and music supervisors attached to the tunes and of course we’ll enjoy the songs themselves. Now as you might imagine with hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies made over the years the scope for SOUNDTRACK is massive – so we’ll give each episode an area of focus and shine the spotlight on that and on this show we’re all about dancing…. (scratch stop). I know I know what you’re thinking there are tons and tons of films and television shows that include dancing – so we’re narrowing our focus by throwing in a couple of restrictions. #1. The dances can’t be to the title track of the movie or series, and #2 They can’t be from productions that revolve around dancing. And YES – that still leaves us with a crazy amount to choose from so better to call this SOUNDTRACK – Dance Tunes Volume 1 and get to it. Truth be told I’m loving the selection for today’s show – with everything from Oscar nominated pop tunes to ROCK ‘N ROLL hits – classical music to romantic scores written for the big screen, traditional folk songs to iconic country classics. Some are sung by the stars as they dance while in others the music serves to support the scene – some of which have become etched in entertainment history – and you know it wouldn’t be soundtrack without a few wildcard lesser known favourites from my collection.
