My little bee is the best – and even though it’s been over a decade since that sweet shot was snapped her love of Halloween has never waned. The costumes, the candy, and now even the creepy! I had to face the fact I live with someone who LOVES the whole nine yards of it. So with the 31st fast approaching, I was looking to whip up a little magic in The Sidekick’s space – a makeover I’m labeling a Bewitching Approach to White!
If you caught our first bedroom make-over story, you’d know we go full-on festive come the holiday season, but I didn’t want to let one of her favourite occasions pass without a little spooky splash.

Knowing the look would only be up for the month of October meant I needed to be smart in my spending, so rather than invest in new bedding I splurged on a plush burnt orange throw (the big spend $30) and then fashioned fun pillows from 2 pack of dishtowels ($10 for the two).

Dressing up the old iron bed is also so fun – these Halloween themed ornaments were easily strung through ribbon remnants to complement the pillows, and add a pop of colourful craziness to the room.

A few whimsical witches, DIY artwork (lucky for me she loves Jack Skellington – he’s surprisingly easy to paint), some black fabric remnants, and mesh ribbon brought the whole Bewitching Approach to White together for under $100.

What’s that you say my painting is priceless?!
Ha-Ha-Happy Halloween!
