Our chats will be just that – very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable. And what a true treat it was to connect with today’s guest – who’s been on my “Must Get” guest list for a good long time now. I’ve had the great fortune of watching her incredible work as a Media Relations Specialist for Tourism Nova Scotia, garnering extraordinary coverage of the province from outlets all over the globe. Truth be told our paths first crossed when she teamed up with the South Shore Tourism Cooperative to create and promote LOBSTER CRAWL. An effort that has earned her and the team the truly prestigious Explore Canada Industry Award of Excellence. Now all of that is reason enough to get her on the show, but our conversation today is due in large part to another spectacular feather in her hat – the release of her first children’s book entitled LUCY THE LOB’STAR: The Fictionalized Origin Story of the real Lucy the Lobster from Barrington, Nova Scotia. Lucy’s the most famous lobster in the world who – on Groundhog Day back in 2018 and every year since has – crawled out of the Atlantic Ocean to offer her prediction of when spring would arrive. So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including what goes into hosting journalists from all around the world, what it was like growing up in a small fishing town and how lobster has woven its way wonderfully through everything she does. We’ll also review her impeccably curated collection of lobster paraphernalia and get the real word on how she got the handle LADY LOVES LOBSTER. Plus we’ll get to 1st Things First, play an enlightening round of INsights in 10 and even spin a few of her favourite tunes along the way. So with all that ahead we best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Pam Wamback.
