Broadcast Date – June 7, 2023
Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… and what a pleasure it was connecting with today’s guest and not just because his voice has been described as “being as powerful as a wayward freight train that bellows the flames of gritty roots with a whole lot of soul.” Although – have mercy does it ever! He’s a truly gifted singer-songwriter who not too long ago moved his family from out west to settle here in Nova Scotia. So you know he’s a kindred spirit and one who’s already making waves in the fantastic fabric of the East Coast Music Scene. In fact, he’s all set to release his debut EP and hit the road in support of it throughout the Maritimes. So we’ll talk about all of that and so much more including how his musical family formed a solid foundation, how he spent his formative years spent riding freight trains and how he first met the love of his life. We’ll also talk about his big show this coming Friday night at Scotiabank Centre when he’ll hit the stage with the likes of Matt Mays, Classified, Jenn Grant and many more for the Wild Fire Recovery Concert. Plus we’ll get to First Things First, play an enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and spin as much of his marvellous music as we can within the hour – so with all that ahead we best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Joe H. Henry.
