Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable… and what an absolute joy it was to finally have this next gentleman on my show. While I can’t remember when it was we first crossed paths – I only know for certain the impact he’s made on the Cape Breton music scene will go down in history. In fact, in addition to receiving the Canadian Band Association Community Builders Award and Doctor of Letters, honoris causa from Cape Breton University – he was just presented with the prestigious STOMPIN’ TOM CONNORS AWARD from the East Coast Music Association. All amazing, but not at all surprising when you read the list of artists he’s accompanied – everyone from The Barra MacNeils and Bruce Guthro to Matt Andersen and Matt Minglewood, and the incredible productions he’s been a part of from The Cape Breton Summertime Revue to Dear Rita to The Island Girls – to his extraordiary direction of The Men of the Deeps and on and on and on. And let’s be clear – whether he’s playing with one of his many bands or as part of the greatest band in the world on CAPE BRETON’S CHRISTMAS DADDIES TELETHON – he’s a spectacular musician, stellar singer a consummate professional and one of the finest kinda fellas around. So it’s sweet he’s agreed to be my guest and – YES! I’ll do my best to ask him about all of that and so much more including how he first got started in music, his favourite times in studio and even how he met his amazingly talented partner Jenn Shepherd. PLUS we’ll get to 1st Things First, play a wonderfully enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and of course play as many of his favourite tunes as we can within the hour. So with all that ahead we best get to it. Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Stephen Muise.
